How to Clear Browser Cache

This article will show the steps to take to clear the cache in the Chrome and Edge browsers.

How to clear browser cache in Chrome

Open Chrome browser

Press shift/ctrl/delete, to open this window 

Make sure the Basic tab is clicked

The time range should be All Time and the 3 boxes should be checked. Click Clear Data to empty cache.

This Clear browsing data window will close once the cache has been cleared

Important!

To apply these changes, be sure to close/quit the Chrome browser and restart it after clearing the cache and cookies

To Clear Browser in Edge

Open Edge browser

In the Edge browser, select the “Settings and More” icon from the upper right corner of the browser window and then click on Settings

From the Settings menu along the left, click on “Privacy, search and services”

Under Clear browsing data, click on the “Choose what to clear” button

In the Clear Browsing data pop-up, change the time range to All time

Then click on Clear now

This Clear browsing data window will close once the cache has been cleared

Important!

To apply these changes, be sure to close/quit the Edge browser and restart it after clearing the cache and cookies
