SAM: How do I claim my Davey account

-How to claim your account-

Once SAM has created an account, the employee's hiring manager will receive an e-mail message with instructions that can be given to the employee to self-register his or her account. This e-mail can be provided via print hardcopy or forwarded to the employee's personal e-mail address.

The self-registration process is called "Account Claim", and can be performed using any computer or mobile device (like a smartphone) with Internet access.

Step 1: Visit https://sam.davey.com and click on Claim My Account.

Step 2: Enter your Employee Number and the Cost Center number that are on your personnel file. If you do not know this information, check with your supervisor.

Step 4: Enroll for Two-Factor Authentication

If you are claiming your account on a computer..

  1. Click Start Setup
  2. Choose Mobile Phone
  3. Enter your phone number
  4. Choose iPhone or Android (or select Other if you do not want to use text messages instead of the Duo Mobile app)
  5. Install Duo Mobile on your device then click I have Duo Mobile installed
  6. Open the app, tap the + button and scan the QR code
  7. Configure Device Options and tap Continue to Login

If you are claiming your account on a smartphone or tablet..

  1. Tap Start Setup
  2. Choose Mobile Phone
  3. Enter your phone number
  4. Choose iPhone or Android (or select Other if you do not want to use text messages instead of the Duo Mobile app)
  5. Install Duo Mobile using your device's app store
  6. Go back to your web browser then tap I have Duo Mobile installed
  7. Configure Device Options and tap Continue to Login

If you don't have an account to sign into the app store, enroll for 2FA with text messages first by selecting Other for your mobile phone type.  Then follow the steps in [KB article about configuring Duo Mobile after enrollment].

Step 5: The next screen will tell you your User ID. Most Davey systems will allow you to sign on with your Davey e-mail address or your User ID, though a few still require User ID so make note of this.

Step 6: Update your personal information. By providing a mobile number or an alternate (non-Davey) email address, we can send you a message to help reset a forgotten password any time day or night.

Step 7: Set your password.

Step 8: Your accounts are now ready for use. The system will forward you to a landing page with some useful information to help you get started.
