TCODE TO MAINTAIN DEFAULT BILLING CODES
Tcode ZCATS_D FLT can be used to maintain default billing codes for employees and equipment. ZCATS_DFLT is a table maintenance that will bring up a screen such as the following:
Mapping is done by Cost center / Activity Type --> Billing code.
For equipment, mapping can be done by either Cost Center / Activity type or by Cost Center / specific Equipment Number.
This is a standard SAP Table Maintenance. To add new entries, hit the "New Entries" button. To modify the code for an existing Cost Center / Activity Type or Equipment#, just modify in the white box and hit Save (the diskette icon, or Ctrl-S).
DEFAULT BILL CODES FOR EMPLOYEES
Default bill codes for employees are based on Activity Type. The activity type of the employee is mapped to the default billing code for that employee. For Cuyahoga Falls, all labor defaults to 1A Labor. Most other clients will have multiple billing codes for labor. For example, City of Hudson has:
- Foreman - biling code A-1
- Trimmer – billing code A-2
- Ground Person – billing code A-3
This would be mapped as follows:
- 20700 Foreman = code A-1
- 20615 Trimmer C = A-2
- 20610 Trimmer B = A-2
- 20500 Groundman = A-3
In the ZCATS_DFLT tcode, it would look like this:
DEFAULT BILL CODES FOR EQUIPMENT
Equipment can be mapped by either Activity type or specific equipment number.
For equipment, the activity type is the same as the equipment type. For example, Equipment Type 15 “Line Dump Truck 4X2” also has activity type 15.
Here are 2 examples from the Cuyahoga Falls contract:
We will map the pick-up truck billing code on activity type, and the dump truck using a specific equipment number.
- Equipment Type 29 "Heavy Pickup Trk 4X4" will map to biling code 1B.
- Equipment number 1501054 "13 FORD F550 GALION 100USD-9" will map to billing code 1C
This would look as follows in ZCATS_DFLT:
